Operations Manager - Monday, July 26, 2010

Walnut Communications, an Internet, Voice and Cable TV provider is seeking an experienced, organized individual with strong communication and people management skills.  This person would lead the technical department in the position of Operations Manager.  The qualified applicant will be required to manage and lead a department of 6-8 people within a limited capacity and would also report to the General Manager/President.  The primary responsibilities include directing all plant operations; including but not limited to overseeing the construction, replacement, removal and maintenance of fiber and buried cable, the provisioning and maintaining of the central office and diagnosing and repairing outside plant facilities in our telephone and cable television division.  Responsibilities may include in a limited role assisting customers with their needs in a timely and courteous manner while maintaining a professional and positive manner within our communities.

This candidate should have strong computer and networking experience as well as experience with FTTH technology.  The candidate will also be responsible for working directly with other such services such as DSL, wireless and facilities based Internet and special circuits.  The employee will also promote the sale of products and services and may be required to educate customers on the use of such products and services.  IP networking and an understanding of VOIP is a must.  The ability to train and work well with others is necessary even if the “subject” of training is not in your area of expertise.

Educational requirements: Associates Degree in Communications Technology or the equivalent.  The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.  Candidates with management experience would be preferred.

Combination Technician - Thursday, July 22, 2010

Farmers Mutual Telephone Company is now accepting applications for a Combination Technician to be located in Jesup, IA. Duties required of this position are varied, including, but not limited to: placement and maintenance of underground cables; programming and trouble shooting of various internet services; installation of business communications systems and residential wiring.

                                                             

This position requires: excellent customer service and communication skills; proficiency in use of computers and basic networking; the ability to operate hand tools, trenchers and backhoes; the ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds; an ability to distinguish color with normal/corrected eyesight; be capable of Saturday and overtime work when required; work in adverse weather conditions; and have a valid driver license. A high school diploma or GED is required and previous experience is preferred.

Grand River Mutual is now accepting applications for a Combination Technician to be located in Bethany, MO.  Duties required of this position are varied, including, but not limited to: placement and maintenance of underground cables; programming and trouble shooting of various internet services; installation of business communications systems and residential wiring.
 
This position requires: excellent customer service and communication skills; proficiency in use of computers and basic networking; the ability to operate hand tools, trenchers and backhoes; the ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds; an ability to distinguish color with normal/corrected eyesight; be capable of Saturday and overtime work when required; and work in adverse weather conditions. The technician must live (or be willing to relocate within a reasonable amount of time) within 15 minutes of Bethany, in GRM’s service area.  Combination Technicians must have or obtain a Class E Missouri driver license.  A high school diploma or GED is required and previous experience is preferred.
