Grassroots Efforts Key to Success

• Grassroots lobbying efforts continue to be a key focus for RIITA. As part of this initiative, RIITA hosts a Legislative Day at the Capitol in conjunction with our Annual Conference and Expo. 
• Weekly updates of legislative action are posted in the RIITA Monitor, an exclusive member publication. Throughout the session, RIITA will also host conference calls updating members on recent developments which allows for a healthy exchange of the issues. Watch for further details relating to the conference calls and other late breaking news.
• In addition to these activities, we employ a network of grassroot volunteer region legislative leaders to expedite our calls to action during legislative session.
• Our goal is to educate legislative and regulatory bodies on the strengths and needs of Iowa’s independent telephone companies and on how we plan to continue providing the best telecommunications services available in the exchanges we serve.

The RIITA Monitor is distributed throughout the year updating our membership on action taking place at the Iowa State Capitol. This is a member service and included as part of our dues. Visit the Member Center for the last RIITA Monitor or to access archived newsletters.
